What is an AI receptionist for in a small business?
In many small businesses the owner is also the one answering the phone, and it rings exactly when their hands are full. That's what an AI receptionist is for. Here is what it does, what it doesn't, and when it isn't worth it.
What it does
- Answers the call in English or Spanish, including after hours.
- Gives the information you told it: services, hours, address and the prices you choose to share.
- Takes the caller's name, phone and reason for calling, and emails you the summary.
- With the Agenda Llena plan, it books the appointment straight onto your calendar.
When it makes sense
When you work with your hands (cutting, repairing, cooking, building) and can't pick up; when you get the same questions every day; or when people call after hours. In those cases, a call that is answered and noted gives you the chance to reply instead of losing the contact.
What it doesn't do
- It isn't a person. It introduces itself as your business's virtual assistant.
- It can make mistakes, and it doesn't give medical, legal or financial advice.
- It isn't a substitute for 911. In an emergency, call 911.
- Calls may be recorded and this is announced at the start. See the privacy policy.
- Text message reminders are not available yet.
If your calls tend to be sensitive or very complex, you may prefer to have people answer. An AI helps most with repetitive questions and messages.
What it costs
The Solo Recepcionista plan is $119/mo with a $99 one-time setup, and includes 150 call minutes a month; extra minutes are $0.30 and I let you know when you reach 80%. It's for businesses that already have a website. If you also need a website and Google Business Profile, see the other plans.
How to try it
Call (725) 444-5336 and ask for an appointment as if you were your customer. The call may be recorded. You can also see how a barber or an auto shop would use it, or read how much a website costs.
